JR Guitar Education
Consistency. Accountability. Confidence.
Guitar is an incredibly complex instrument. By understanding each concept as an individual silo and practicing it individually, I try to ensure that my students know EXACTLY what they are working on.
Conceptual understanding of the REAL connections that exist on the guitar is the #1 thing that I have found that increases the confidence of my students. I go far beyond the typical guitar teacher relationship to ensure that you can TRULY understand why things connect in the way that they do.
By prioritizing the following cycle of skill improvement, and making sure to promote self-sufficiency, my goal is to create skilled musicians capable of understanding what they want and how to go after it. I want you to know that reaching your goal is achievable, as long as we approach it in bite-sized pieces. The guitar can really be for everyone!
Guitar takes years to become mediocre at, but we can accelerate that process by intense concept separation, and learning how to ask the right questions.
When I was an intermediate player myself, I constantly felt stuck because I had no idea of the different things that existed within the realm of music, and I certainly had no idea how to ask questions about what I didn’t know.
I want to facilitate the growth that I know you’re capable of. It exists within everyone, seriously!
My program uses various time restrictions to force your brain into “go-mode,” and I spend a great deal of time crafting meaningful exercises and workouts that my students really get a lot of help from.
Finally, and somewhat uniquely, my special talent is systems synthesis. This allows me to see complex interconnected systems in interesting, novel ways, and this is helpful to students who feel they just can’t see the connections that exist, no matter how it’s explained.
I genuinely love exploring the world of mathematical maximums and deep understanding behind the guitar. It’s a true joy that I love sharing!
