Practice (and break) Time.

Well, it’s not every day that you get to actually practice all day. When you do though, it’s really important that we take breaks for a meaningful amount of time at regular intervals. Repetitive strain injuries can be a death sentence for guitarists. There are lots that we can do to protect ourselves from injury, and breaks are one of the most important ways. Especially for players who enjoy the more technical, intense stuff, we have to remember that this is still a PHYSICAL activity requiring an intentional approach.

Additionally, the other thing that I think is really critical is stretching! One of my favorite sets of stretches are linked below! Whether you choose to do these or not, you should try and prioritize even some simple warm up stretches when you pick up the guitar for the first time in a day. Take care of your body and it will take care of you.
